Failed to attach the usb

I hve an adapter w777mi wen I try to connect it to the kali linux vm it's just showing the error failed to connect , I already have an another adpter tplink wn722n driver installed in linux, but for this 'w777mi' when I search for it in lsusb it isn't shown there even.
Pls help me
