Can't get it to work with drupal 8

I'm rather new with this, but I can't seem to get this to work with drupal 8. The banner doesn't show up with android phone and on desktop computer when I checked the site with inspect tool I get an error "ReferenceError: SmartBanner is not defined". I've installed the packages with git using the mentioned npm install command and the smart-app-banner folder is in the node_modules folder.
