Optional mode for identifying (You) by cookies rather than IP

There might be a checkbox in option that may allow (You) identification using cookies (might be useful if multiple board participants sit over a certain VPN/NAT/etc.)

I wonder.. why cookies if we're able to use just localStorage to make end-user's browser track them itself?

Yes, maybe localStorage is a better option.
