Thoughts on localtalk and this project

I imagine this it outside of the scope of your project, but it occurred to me that the code resources involved in configuring the port for Localtalk could in theory be edited to just set the port to RS-232 and no special encoding. This would then allow at least a point-to-point device on the other end without any sort of signaling overhead.

Any thoughts on this, or should I just start this as my own project?

Thanks for all your work on this, regardless. Keep up the good work!

I'm not sure I follow. Are you talking about a situation where two TashTalk PICs would communicate with their hosts using the existing TashTalk protocol but be connected to one another using an RS-232 null-modem link instead of a LocalTalk bus?
