colorbox does not linebreak. Solutions are offered at https://tex.stackexchange.com/questions/312574/colorbox-does-not-linebreak. A solution is the soul package, but it causes issues. For instance, \cite needs to be wrapped into {}. https://tex.stackexchange.com/q/406211/9075.
