Diacritic collisions in Latin sequence ïï

The sequence ïï is used in a few languages. In Dinka for instance it represents the long breathy i. Currently the diacritics collide with each other.
It is actually very difficult to find a font that is suitable for print publications since few fonts support the glyphs and glyph variants used in Africa, and character pairs like ïï are sub-optimal for display text or print publications.
