Lato fonts ver.2 - question/licence

Opened this issue · 5 comments

Hello,

Is Lato fonts family ver.2 available for commertial use?

We can install ver.2 from Adobe, however this is unfortunately not enough for us. Adobe does not allow to install the fonts from the cloud on Indesign Server. We would need to obtain the fonts files and be able to install them to users and Indesign Server.

I would really like to talk to somebody about possible licensing of this font family if such is needed. Ver.1 does not cover the markets' alphabets we are using so this is not an option unfortunately.

Can I please obtain some other contact than through github ?

Regards,

Piotr

@kierunp Hello there! The Lato font is licensed under the Open Font License version 1.1, there is a copy available here. This means you can starting using the fonts straight away, the font files are available at the Lato Fonts website. If that solves your issue then feel free to close it. Thanks!

Hello,

Unfortunately 1.1 version does not have many languages that we require. Hence my question about version 2.0

I hope I can get in touch with the owner or designer of the font because I do not have any other contact than through here.

Regards,

Piotr

1.1 is the version of the license, which is the same license that applies to all versions of the Lato font. It's unlikely that the current maintainer of the font, @twardoch, is very active with Lato right now, so I thought I'd help out with the license.

Thanks for the answer, can you please let me know where I can find this 1.1 version of the licence? I would appreciate the help.
