1. Does it require the device to be rooted. If yes then can you tell how we can 
do this on non rooted devices

Thank you for your interest in AutoUpdateAPK!

Rooted device is not required. This software works perfectly on the stock 
Android system, using Notifications to inform users about new software versions 
and allows them to install/upgrade the application.

However, if you need unattended upgrades (without user intervention), the 
device has to be rooted. This use case is covered by SilentAutoUpdateAPK and 
generally is not recommended, unless you definitely need it (information 
displays, POS terminals, kiosks and similar devices).
