Clarify whether making backups of loaded data is allowed

Question: is it allowed to
(1) load the data,
(2) shut down the DB,
(3) make a backup of the loaded data, and
(4) copy the backup to the database for subsequent runs?

I think the answer is yes but this should be documented.
