The current composting system in MineColonies is quite limited and doesn’t fully capture the real-life processes of composting and fertilization. In real life, manure from animals is a critical component of composting, and it would be great to see this reflected in the game.

Enhancement or Change description

Realism in the Game:
In reality, composting often involves animal waste, which is essential for creating fertile compost. Farms use manure from animals like cows, chickens, and horses to produce compost that enriches the soil. This process could be incorporated into MineColonies to enhance gameplay realism.

Suggestion Details:

  1. Manure Drops and Storage:

    • Animals in MineColonies should periodically drop Manure. However, to avoid causing lag, manure would not drop as an item in the world. Instead, it would automatically be placed in a designated spot within the animal hut.
    • Over time, manure would accumulate in the form of blocks within the hut. After a set period, the animal herder would come with a shovel and store the manure in bags. These bags would then be transported by couriers to be used as fertilizer or as an ingredient to create better fertilizer.
  2. Direct Use of Manure:

    • Manure could be used directly on crops, similar to bonemeal, to accelerate their growth. However, its more efficient use would be as a raw material for producing fertilizer.
  3. Fertilizer Hut & Fertilized Farmland:

    • The Fertilizer Hut would process manure into Fertilizer, which could be used similarly to bonemeal. However, its primary use would be in crafting a new type of farmland: Fertilized Farmland.
    • Fertilized Farmland would be a temporary block that increases both the speed and yield of crops. Once the crop is harvested, the farmland would revert back to normal, requiring it to be fertilized again.
  4. Advanced Fertilizer & Special Farmland:

    • Advanced Fertilizer would be locked behind a level 4 or 5 research. It would be produced in a Level 5 Fertilizer Hut using normal Fertilizer plus bones and would produce a very low yield. But it would offer even more significant benefits.
    • This fertilizer would allow the creation of a new type of soil (perhaps named "Enriched Farmland" or "Superior Farmland"). This soil allows crops to grow even faster and produce significantly more yield, but also could grow any crop, regardless of the biome.
    • Like Fertilized Farmland, this special soil would be temporary and revert back to normal farmland after the crop is harvested.

This change would make the game more realistic and engaging, adding depth to the agricultural aspects of MineColonies.

Notes or related things
