Choice Attributes

Opened this issue · 5 comments

It was requested to have the possibility of placing a picture with every choice. (Apparently it makes sense to upload a portrait of a tutor)
The standard moodle-filepicker can be used here. However, it should be discussed how much the widget is disturbing the layout as it is pretty big. Maybe there should be an option in the general-section where you can tick 'include picture for choices' and then - and only then - all these filepickers are shown.

It was also requested to have the description as an optional attribute. There could be either placed a placeholder like '-' or 'No description available' or '&nbsp'. This depends a little on how the layout looks during the voting phase - it should not be overloaded - and how the html behaves.

Description is now optional. Will come with the next pull request.
The field is now just empty if there is nothing written. Looks fine.

Probably makes a restructuring of the students view necessary.
Alternatively the description could be done as text field rather than a string. There it is possible to insert images.

Additional similar feature may be to add files to each choice (Some pages of description belonging to a seminartopic).

I think making a textfield rather that a string is a good idea anyways. I thought of that, but forgot to include it in the issue. whoops. Anyways, the ability to then insert images is sufficient.

Adding files so a choice is a whole new thing. It sounds reasonable, but if we start including so many new attributes to choices we should start thinking about making an own page for choice creation :>

Waiting for #76

Hi Tobias,

this issue was created by us two years ago and you tagged it with Priority: Very Low.

During the last two years, I haven't heard this request from any of our teachers anymore. Thus, I would propose to close this issue as "Won't do" and focus on important things.

Thanks,
Alex
