New challenges are by default closed

Challenges by default are closed when published. No matter if the field's challenge status is set by default to either 'open' or 'closed'. This has no effect.
Strange.
@Artmir can you please specify which of the OpenideaL modules are activated?
@zohar I believe it is the default installation (fresh install). whatever comes installed by default. Naturally I have added a few others to enhance security, and GDPR compliance, however they should not affect.
I noticed today morning that if an Administrator role adds challenges then the default 'open' setting works. But if an authenticated user role creates a challenge then it won't.
Zohar soon I will go live with the arcsar-innovation in the coming weeks, changing from Drupal 7 to 8. Let's see fingers crossed. :)
