I'd like to be able to open documents fullscreen by default.

A solution is that you can compile from source and add the line _xed_window_fullscreen (window); at the end of the function xed_app_create_window_real in the file xed/xed-app.c.

Thanks for letting me know. I solved my problem by using Geany with the following Lua scripts...
