Suggesions: Using Trim instead of Zeroing Disk

Closed this issue · 1 comments

It should be possible to replace Zeroing disks by the trim command.

This would need some rework because ntfs3 seems not to support the trim command and there's a difference between the busybox trim command and the ubuntu one.

In the end this could improve the speed of creating an image and put less wear on SSDs during the imaging process.

Example:

In my opinion the mentioned solution is not relevant for linbo images. Trim may be used by the os using the filesystem online to avoid unallocated disk space. Linbo does not "use" the filesystem in this sense.
