I'm using Collectd>InfluxDB and Logstash(pipe input)>StatsD>InfluxDB because there's no viable (handling tagging) Logstash InfluxDB(0.9) output.
Having Logstash>Collectd>InfluxDB would simplify my process a lot.

+1 on this. We are using logstash to filter/manipulate metrics before shooting them off to our primary collectd proxy server, and ultimately into a proprietary DB. By allowing us to route collectd metrics through logstash and then back out to a collectd server we can manipulate the data as needed [in our case adding a prefix to the plugin field value
