I found Pretext shortly after filing this request. It lacks a certain je ne se qua that Textor has.

If Markdown support is outside the scope of Textor, so be it. I certainly appreciate the less-is-more approach of this application, and don't want to pollute it with feature requests. But if adding basic Markdown support can be done, while keeping the rest of the app as simple and elegant and uncluttered, that would be grand.
