Add checkboxes separately and completion status

I like the operation to delete or edit by sliding left or right very much.
But I found that it is impossible to add a checkbox to an item at present, and I can only give it to all nodes in the current position. which makes it inconvenient for me to use them. For example, when I quickly enter a content, I want to immediately distinguish it as a to-do or a note.
On the other hand, I can't set a item as complete status unless it has a check box. But I actually give different meanings to the completion with checkbox and without checkbox, so I still need this completion status very much. But it seems that it can't be done now.
