Weird behaviour of flat buttons?

Hi,
Not sure if it's intended or not but... isn't the behaviour of flat buttons kind of weird?
Once you click on a flat button it changes it's state to active and stays that way (doesn't get back to the original state) until it loses focus.
Other types of buttons seem to get back to the original state after clicked so it's kind of weird flat buttons behave another way.
PS: I just noticed this also happens with floating buttons.
