Slow performance in version for Windows

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Open Pencil 1.2.0 Win version
2. Slow to open.
3. Open a ".ep" file.
4. Slow to open the file.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
In the version of FireFox 3 the application works fine, but the Windows version 
the application is too slow in the same machine.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
Pencil 1.2.0 Win32
Windows XP pt-br SP3
Sempron 2800+ 1.6 GHz
2GB Memory
Java 6.25

Please provide any additional information below.
