Debian sid build is failing due to merged usr

We may need the same workaround for sid as we had for noble. I ran into this error today.

@stgraber @monstermunchkin I just tried the new build, it didn't seem to help i'm still seeing the same error (i already recompiled distrobuilder)

I did some further search and found this https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=1065017 it may be related? The bug date lines up. Issue started 29th Feb 2024

Should I revert the change I did?

With or without your change, we seem to be hitting the same issue with sid.
Same goes if you revert to the earlier version of debootstrap from Ubuntu.

So I suspect it's likely Debian being in the middle of the same usr-merge changes that noble went through but because there's a lot more stuff going on there (the time_t transition), things are likely a bit inconsistent right now.

I guess all we can do now is wait.

Testing is behaving these days so sid should be fine too.
