[BUG] Audio delayed by 100+ ms
psobot opened this issue · 2 comments
Describe the bug
When using DDSP-VST in Logic Pro (on an M1 MacBook Air), the audio produced by the plugin is significantly delayed (even when bouncing or rendering offline) and the audio unit does not seem to report its latency to the host to allow for latency compensation during playback.
System Info
- MacBook Air M1, 2020, macOS Big Sur 11.4
- Logic Pro 10.7.2
- DDSP-VST v1.0.2 (Synth)
To Reproduce
- Start an empty project in Logic Pro
- Add DDSP-VST as an instrument
- Choose any model
- Add a note on the "1" of any bar
- Enable Logic's metronome
- Hit play
- Observe how the note produced comes in roughly one sixteenth note late

Short-attack parameters that can be used (with any model) to reproduce the above bug:
When using Logic Pro's "Bounce in Place" feature, the note can be seen to come in more than 100ms late:
Hey @psobot, please try again with the latest v1.1.0 release. In this release, the plugin reports the latency so the DAW should compensate for it. Closing for now, please re-open if the issue persists.
Thanks @nikhilbhanu! Much appreciated.
