The produced colours do not accurately match the input colours.
Describe the solution you'd like
Implement the CIE 1931 brightness colour correction curve. This adjusts for the fact that human brightness perception is not linear, but logarithmic.
Describe alternatives you've considered
There are other colour correction principles, but this is one of the simplest to implement and should improve accuracy massively.
