License issue with mapswipe-logo.svg -- is upload to Wikimedia commons possible?

I would like to upload MapSwipe icon to Wikimedia commons, similar to Missing Maps icon. However, I am not completely sure if it's currently possible as the whole repository (mapswipe-logo.svg included) is released under MIT license.
Would it be possible to release SVG images (or at least mapswipe-logo.svg) under Creative Commons license?

I believe that due to the sublicensing option in MIT license, the CC BY-SA license may be used.
