SocketIO 2.0

Opened this issue · 4 comments

Hi @marcosscriven,

I work on Loop, and we've just updated the backend to use SocketIO 2.0.

I've just cloned the repo and confirmed it works after just changing the version in package.json to 2.2.0, but making a pull request isn't going to be possible quickly from my end, so hoping you can fix it!

Thanks!

Thanks @paulmdavies for the notification - I know how it is getting the red tape done to contribute externally, however trivial.

I updated both the node and web client, seems to work fine thanks.

@paulmdavies great when company developers come out of the woodwork!

Could I add another repo to your radar? pavoni/pyloopenergy#30

Eventually guessed what the issue was, but could have saved a little time if I'd seen your helpful heads up on the version change.

Hi @paulmdavies - do you still work at Loop?

I got the email your gas readings service is shutting down, so I asked for the API code to read from this device. However, someone called Gerry has refused.

I wonder if you could help find a way to not just brick this device please? I’m not expecting Loop to run a service or divulge its IP. Merely allow us to continue to use the device locally.

Hi Marcos - sorry for not seeing this sooner.

The device has no API - it merely sends data to the Loop backend in a custom message format. There's no possibility to query the data from the device locally.
