Event drops lags in IE when zooming (large data)

What you were expecting:
Event drops zoom functionality to behave similar in all browsers
What happened instead:
With a large set of data the zoom is lagging in any version of IE.
It works fine on Chrome and Firefox

Can you please suggest a solution for this (apart from using less data)? We need to be able to display big sets of data
