Features Request / Guidance - Search / Replace - Find Highlighted

johjeff opened this issue · 4 comments

Brief description of the issue.

In Notepad++, when you hightlight something, then hit Ctrl-H it brings up the Find / Replace dialog with the highlighted word in the Find box. It's very handy, and I would love to see that feature here.

Another Find / Replace feature that I use a lot is to search and replace within the existing selection only. For example, I might use column selection to highlight 2 columns of information seperated by a | symbol. I then replace the | in selection with a , to create a csv table.

How to reproduce the bug?

Not a bug - just useful features.

What is the expected result?

  1. Ctrl-H to open Find / Replace dialog with highlighted characters in search box.

  2. Highlight a section of the document and replace all just in the selection.

What actually happened?

Can't find these features if they exist.

Point 1 is solved now.

Martin,

That was fast! Do you by chance have a Windows 64 build of the executable with the fix? The link under Development versions doesn't point to an executable or installer. Or do I just need to download a Lua file to replace in my existing install?

Thank you.

Jeff

Hello.
Yes, currently I only build x64 versions of Textosaurus. Development builds are compiled automatically and sometimes something goes wrong, as you've found out.

I started dev. builds and the section "Development builds" should offer correct download links. Try it out. :)

Btw, no lua files are used in Textosaurus.
