The current database format seems easily corruptible when songs.xml is held in a (SVN) repository. It should work better if every song is a separate XML file in the directory which is already set apart for songs (~/.songdatabase/songs), perhaps each file named by the song's UUID?

This is obsolete as there are other possibilities, such as NextCloud/OwnCloud or Git for synchronisation.
