VIRTUAL_HOST env variable?

Hi there,
what is the exact purpose of this variable in the file "docker/.examples/apache/docker-compose.yml":
VIRTUAL_HOST

It seems this variable is used nowhere.
The variable name is often used with nginx Docker image.
Should be removed from examples.
