Hi,
If I only want to update my version but don't want to erase any of my settings or highlights etc, what parts of the Mac OS package should I copy over and replace?

Yes, i'm afraid that's the only way, only your profile settings can be stored under user/home but everything else is local right now.

Pretty much anything you want to keep -- all ini files, /logs, /maps, /profiles, /scripts, /sounds etc.

In some cases it would be easier to only replace the binary/exe but i can't guarantee that this will work every time and even if it looks like it works it could still lead to unexpected behavior.
