Prompt does not handle large buffers

When a git repo has multiple remotes (such as with a fork), the git portion of the prompt is missing.

This may have been an incorrect conclusion. It may have actually been that there were thousands of files changed.

This was observed on my babel fork after building and removing everything except babel-parser.
