publish additional values to MQTT

I've created an additional datafield in the database (using weectl database) and it's getting data via a custom service.

How can I get this additional data published via MQTT?
I have already added it to [[[inputs]]] but it doesn't get published on a change.
Do I need to modify the wx_binding somehow?
