Monetization Ideas:
Freemium model: Sell premium content and/or premium annotation tools. Premium annotations could be created by Marist faculty and added to a body of curated texts. Imagine reading the works of Shakespeare with audio/video/text image annotations by Richard Grinnell or learning law and law vocabulary by reading legal documents with annotation for Anna Maria Masciosa. Imagine learning code by having examples of code in the box and having it annotated by an IT professor. Experts could walk you through any kind of text or series of texts.

Certify knowledge: Another model would be to give the MOOC-like model in which anyone could go through the content for free and then take an exam and have it scored by an expert at Marist. Perhaps a certificate could be awarded for passing a test on set of readings. An exchange rate could even be created for college credit. For example, one three certificates in one given area could equal one college credit. If one credit=$600, one could charge $200 per certificate.

Strategic Partners: The platform could be sold or one could work with content partners such as Pearson to create premium content areas. Revenues could be shared with these partners. Pearson has already expressed interest in such a strategic partnership.

Not in the scope as it is a Marist project.
