Automatically Set Different Recommended Keywords for Different Countries

As mentioned above, different countries have different trending events. For instance, as a foreigner, I have no idea about the hottest events in Japan these days. Is there a way for this website to automatically collect popular events from different countries and then simplify them into recommended keywords?
I thought about using Google News or Google Trends, but the top-ranked ones usually don't match the keywords that people are genuinely interested in. I'm unsure if there's a better method.
