Split doc fit to page

I looked and didn't see an issue for this, but I may have missed it.
When I open a pdf in split doc, it shows in a reduced size to fit the allotted space. Can you make notebooks do that?
The zoom and restore also work differently for pdfs vs. notebooks.
And notebook pages in a pdf act like, well, notebook pages, i.e., they don't fit to the page.
Not sure how hard this might be, but it's interesting that pdfs behave very close to ideal IMO.

I'm the same way.
I also noticed a difference.
It bothers me the most in the small window, there I would like to see the whole page shrunk down.
One can argue that you can pinch the page smaller, but this works differently for notebooks and pdfs. If you pinch a pdf smaller (or larger) and then tap the 100% indicator, the pdf returns to the fit-in-page size (as 100%). But if you pinch a notebook smaller (e.g., so you can see it all) and then tap the 100% indicator, the notebook returns to the bigger-than-viewport size (as 100%).
Yeah I would love to see this feature implemented
