Apply filter to existing email

Is it possible to apply a new filter to all existing emails from the config?

It's not possible, because it would require gmailctl to have access to your emails, which would make it more sensitive. Up until now gmailctl only requires very basic permissions to operate, and no bug can screw up your emails.

@kerry Thought I might add that Gmail allows you to "apply new filters to existing email" if you import new filters via XML.

You can export the rules in XML format using gmailctl export > mailFilters.xml and simply upload the new file each time via Gmail Web Settings.
