I'm running the latest osmc kodi 17 updates. When I run the retropie script I do not receive an option for binary install. I only have an option for basic install of retropie.

Nothing to do with Kodi 17 ;-)
RetroPie itself changed that in their scripts. I edited the readme.
Just use Basic install instead.
