Slack audio calls no longer work

Initially they were working fine, after updating it is impossible for me to join an audio call.
Pre-update, clicking on a call link was opening a fancy slack-themed pop-up with full call functionality.
Now clicking on a call opens a web browser and load forever without eventually being able to join the call.
