What happened?

Mega logs out automatically by itself time to time, possibly within a week or two. This happens when one is not using the app. When the app is opened, it asks to sign up or create a new account.

What did you expect to happen?

Mega should stay logged in until one chooses "Log out" from the app.

Sorry to hear about your bad experience.
Let us try the basic so we can rule it out.

If you experience app issues, the best course of action is:

  • Log out from the app
  • Log in again
  • Try and see if it works

PS: Ensure you have your Recovery Key backed up in case you forget your password and need to reset it: https://mega.nz/keybackup

If not:

  • Un-install the app
  • Re-install the app
  • Log in again
  • Try and see if it works

If it still doesn't work, please restart the device and perform the steps again.

If the issue still persists, could please send an email from your associated account so we can investigate further.

We have included a possible fix for this issue in v6.18.1. Please update to that version as soon as it is available for you and try again. Please let us to know if the problem is fixed for you. Thanks.

I have not encountered the issue after I posted it here. The only thing so far I have done is logging out manually and logging back in again. My app seems to have updated to v6.18.1 (470) at some point. Will observe if the issue still occurs.
