Immich added a new External Libraries feature

The app immich has added a new External Libraries feature with v1.79.0 which replaces the now deprecated read only gallery.
It may be worth re-evaluating the Existing Folders score.

I haven't had the time to look at this feature yet. Do you know if this feature duplicates the photo in the Immich database?
In other words, does it require double the storage capacity, or does it result in the media existing in it's full resolution form in both the immich database and the external folder?
For now i will bump the score to take into account that the feature exists. Future adjustments may also be necessary 👍
I can confirm that the files are not duplicated in immich's database. Thumbnails and encoded videos will be generated.
In my case, 830GB of pictures/videos located in a NAS only need 210GB of space in the VM where immich is running without adjusting any thumbnail quality or encoding settings.
