Broken on windows

The upgrade to winapi and associated changes won't build on my laptop, nor on AppVeyor.

Could you re-instate the AppVeyor and Travis CI pipelines from the original repo? As it'll help to catch this kind of thing.

If I have time in the next few days I'll try and submit a PR to fix the windows build. But re-instating CI shouldn't take more than 10 minutes and is free on both AppVeyor and TravisCI for open-source repos.

Thanks!
