As a continuation of #56, please capture Funder data from CrossRef :
- https://semopenalex.org/funder/F4320323299 Norges Forskningsråd has https://doi.org/10.13039/501100005416 = https://data.crossref.org/fundingdata/funder/10.13039/501100005416 .
This JSON includes:fundingBodyType
: "gov"fundingBodySubType
: "National government"address.postalAddress.addressCountry
: "nor" (you already have country for this funder, but not for all)country.resource
pointing to geonames (but that's redundant)region: "Europe"
(but that's redundant)- related organizations (
broader, narrower, affilWith
): THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT
- https://semopenalex.org/funder/F4320333681 SFI Offshore Mechatronics corresponds to https://data.crossref.org/fundingdata/funder/10.13039/100014583 .
This JSON includes extra data compared to what you already have:altLabel.Label.literalForm.content
: "Offshore Mechatronics Centre for Research Based-Innovation"fundingBodyType
: "gov"fundingBodySubType
: "Research institutes and centers"address.postalAddress.addressCountry
: "nor"- related organizations (
broader, narrower, affilWith
)
- In particular, we find that "SFI Offshore Mechatronics" is affiliated with "Universitetet i Agder".
So it's a government research center but is hosted under that university.
This is a very common form of collaboration and it's worth capturing it.
Also, https://data.crossref.org/fundingdata/funder/10.13039/501100012704 can add to https://semopenalex.org/institution/I200650556 :- useful types (fundingBodyType, fundingBodySubType)
- the role "funder"
- Associated Institutions (this tab is currently empty)
REMARK: if you capture fundingBodyType, fundingBodySubType
please rename it to eg crossRefOrgType, crossRefOrgSubType
, since these types are not related to the org's role as Funder but to its identity as an org.
