Permissions on shared configuration file

I created a hidden share on our tfs box - which was initially a) readonly to everyone but me (doh!) and having fixed that, the initial file created by my configuration had administrator permissions (my domain permissions on the box).
Both of these caused runtime crashes rather than "could not update configuration file - permission denied"
