I thought I got it to stop adding that dependency. Hrm. How did you build the gem? or is that just the one that's currently built (which I should remove from the repo now that you've noticed it)

After commenting out line 58 (see issue 2), I did rake build.

This turned out to be a conflict between jeweler and bundler. I've been annoyed by this for a while, thanks for reporting it!
