At the FPGA Stockholm conference Intel was very proud that they released the first softcore processor the Nios 2 in 2000, and started it in 1998.
Your EuroForth paper says 1997. I am curious if you have more details about your history? I want to include it in the next version of my slides on Forth processors. Very impressive if we beat the Nios2.
