[com.android.vending] Patched Play Store reports incorrect signature on Android 14 (lineageos4microg)

Closed this issue · 0 comments

Affected app
Name: Nanolx's Patched Play Store
Package id: [com.android.vending]

Describe the bug
I use fakestore2playstore to install the patched Play Store to activate the license for Quick Cursor for accessibility reasons since microG even on the latest with some experimental license verification doesn't work with Quick Cursor, then remove it afterwards.

I always use lineageos4microg, had no issues on the 20 builds but I tested the newer 21 builds on panther and it just doesn't work anymore no matter what I try, this is one of those situations where if it doesn't work then I'm forced to stick with 20 because it's near unusable for me without Quick Cursor.

To Reproduce
Steps to reproduce the behavior:

  1. Install lineageos4microg 21 for selected device (panther)
  2. Install Magisk
  3. Setup Magisk for superuser access, update microg to v0.3.1.240913
  4. Install updated fakestore2playstore
  5. Login to google account

Expected behavior
Play Store opens correctly and can verify license for Quick Cursor

System
Android Version: [14]
Custom ROM: [LineageOS for microG 21]

microG
microG Core version: [v0.3.1.240913]
microG Self-Check results: [All ticked (on 20) except Play Store Phonesky has correct signature (on 21)]

Additional context
I was told that this is potentially a microG issue or an issue with the patched play store by the team that manages lineageos4microg as panther is a userdebug build so signature spoofing shouldn't be restricted.
