Text editing breaks in mobile iOS browsers

I'm finding that sometimes I can't type (forum posts, in particular, are where I've had trouble). The cursor sits and flashes in the edit box, but does not respond to keypresses. Sometimes I can get some text to show up, but then it stops (perhaps after I've tapped elsewhere on the screen). Sometimes, I can't even get the typing started.
