Midterm Info

I will post the midterm to github by noon on Thursday 22 Sep, and you will have until Sunday 25 Sep @ midnight to submit it.

Format:

1. The midterm will be worth 15 points.
2. There will be 10 True / False / Open questions. Each correct answer will be worth 1 point, each incorrect answer will result in a -1 penalty, and each blank answer will result in 0 points.
3. There will be 5 free response questions. These questions will follow the format of the questions in the notes packets.

Rules:

1. The exam will be untimed.
2. You may use any non-human resources that you like, including notes, books, internet articles, and computers.
3. You will not be allowed to discuss the exam in any way until after the due date. This includes obviously bad behavior like copying answers, but also includes more banal behavior such as telling your friend "Problem 6 was really hard" or asking them "Have you completed the exam yet?" Even after you finish the exam, you may not discuss it.
4. If you do have questions about the exam, you should email me the questions rather than posting to github.

Other notes:

1. I will not answer questions related to this class during the normal Friday office hours timeslot on 23 Sep (since the exam will be in progress then).
2. There will be no in-class review session, but I would be happy to schedule an out-of-class review session on Tuesday (20 Sep) in the afternoon (sometime between noon and 4pm). If you want this, YOU ALL MUST ORGANIZE IT and tell me when/where to show up.
3. We will be starting all-new material next week.
