Conflict with AdRotate plugin??

I have an issue with the plugin AdRotate. Take a look at the following test page, then open a new tab in the same window.

The animating slideshow of ads seems to stop when the tab is inactive, but after a minute or so, when you revisit that tab, the animation cycles quickly through the ads you 'missed' as if it knows it needs to catch up to where its supposed to be. There are no other plugins running on this test site. Is there something in the Reverie or Foundation JS that might cause this?
