Search don't work with Cyrillic characters

Hi
Search don't work with Cyrillic characters. See here http://jriverdemo.tk/ for example. Search with latin characters work fine. Search with Cyrillic characters displayed 404 page instead of the search results page
WordPress 3.9 and 4.0. Alienship theme v. 1.2.5

the problem was solved by commenting out lines 42-71 in tweaks.php

@JRiversBox thanks for reporting this. I've already removed this in the dev branch here for the upcoming version because of the potential conflicts it causes. I should have never put it there anyway. It belongs in a plugin. Thanks!
