windows 7 64b instal help please

  1. installed JRE 1.8,0 (assumed Java3D dependencies are included in ER Designer zip)
  2. copied github download zip contents to new folder in c:\
  3. execute 'Run.bat'
  4. Java error "Could not find or load main class de.mogwai.smartstart.SmartStart"
    Apologies its probably a noobie mistake I am making but could anyone put me right please?

Did you do a git clone or just download the sources? The fresh windows build zip file with all dependencies is available here:

https://github.com/mirkosertic/MogwaiERDesignerNG/releases/download/3.1.1/mogwai-erdesignerng-3.1.1-plain.zip

This will work with Java8+
